Jnena ("we", "us", "our") is a software company based in San Julians, Malta. We respect your privacy and are committed to handling your personal data transparently, lawfully, and with care, in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Maltese Data Protection Act.

1. What we collect
When you contact us through the contact form on this website, we collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your company name (optional)
- The type of project you're interested in
- The message you send us
We do not use third-party analytics, advertising trackers, or social media pixels on this site. Standard server logs (IP address, user agent, request timestamps) are kept for short periods solely for operational and security purposes.
2. How we use it
We use the information you submit only to:
- Reply to your enquiry
- Discuss whether and how we can help with your project
- Keep a brief record of our conversation so we can follow up properly
We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for any purpose other than corresponding with you about your project.
3. Legal basis
Under GDPR Article 6, we process your data on two lawful bases: (a) your consent, given by submitting the contact form, and (b) our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries directed at us.
4. Your rights under GDPR
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request that we correct any inaccurate data
- Request that we erase your data (the "right to be forgotten")
- Restrict or object to our processing of your data
- Receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format
- Withdraw consent at any time
- Lodge a complaint with the Information and Data Protection Commissioner of Malta (idpc.org.mt)

5. Data retention
We keep contact form submissions for up to 24 months from our last communication, after which they are deleted. If we begin working together, project-related data is retained for the duration of the engagement and for the period required by Maltese tax and accounting law (typically 10 years for financial records).
6. Third parties
We use Zoho Mail to send and receive email. Messages you send to us travel through Zoho's servers and are subject to their privacy practices. We use no other third-party processors for the contact form.
7. Security
The site is served over HTTPS. We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, but no internet transmission is ever completely secure. Please do not send highly sensitive information through the contact form.
